Chen Zihe ( Chinese  陈 子 荷 , Pinyin Chén Zǐhé ; born February 29, 1968 ) is a Chinese table tennis player . In doubles with Gao Jun , she was world champion in 1991 and second at the 1992 Olympic Games .

Career

Chen Zihe achieved her first international successes at the Asian Youth Championships, where she was part of the winning team in 1983 and 1986 and was also Asian champion in doubles with Gao Lijuan in 1986.

In the adult sector, she took part in all five world championships from 1987 to 1995 . Here she became world champion in doubles with Gao Jun in 1991 , with the Chinese team and in mixed with Xie Chaojie , she came second. 1989 and 1993 she won the team competition. In 1993 she reached the double semifinals with Gao Jun. In 1992 she qualified for participation in the Olympic Games . Here she and her double partner Gao Jun won the silver medal behind the Chinese Deng Yaping / Qiao Hong . In the individual, she was eliminated in the quarterfinals against Li Bun Hui (North Korea).

After 1995, it no longer appeared internationally. Various injuries affected her activities and in 1999 forced her to give up competitive sports.

Activities in Germany

Chen Zihe joined Bundesliga club VfB Lübeck in 1993 . In 1996 she moved to TSV Betzingen , a year later to Kasseler SV Auedamm , where she ended her active career in 1999.

Private

Chen Zihe is married to the Chinese table tennis player Xu Zengcai .
