Ilka Böhning (born October 16, 1968 in Osnabrück ) is a former German table tennis player .

Table tennis

Ilka Böhning won the German Schoolchildren Championship in 1983 and the Youth Championship in 1985. After a third place at the Schoolchildren’s European Championship in 1983, she became vice European youth individual champion in 1986. She was German champion several times in doubles (1992, 1996 and 1997 with her partner Nicole Struse ) and in mixed (1988 with Matthias Höring ). In 1988 she was German runner-up in the individual, and in 1995 she was team champion in the Bundesliga with TSG Dülmen . With the German national team, she took part in the world championships in 1987 (14th place) and 1989 (19th place), and between 1987 and 1989 she played 14 international matches.

Ilka Böhning studied medicine in Münster. In 2004 she did her doctorate at the University of Duisburg-Essen ; The topic of her dissertation was "Long-term clinical and radiological results of a cementless hip prosthesis stem".
