Football Seniors

Football has been played at TuS Holsterhausen since it was founded. In the 1950s, the successes at the DJK championships were outstanding:

  • 1953 the DJK TuS Holsterhausen became German DJK national champion ,
  • In 1957 he became German DJK runner-up .

With the championship in 1986 in the district class A, the first team rose to the district league for the first time. Here they took 4th place in 1987, but then had to relegate to the district class A in 1991. This was followed by renewed promotion to the district league in 2004 and 2008. In the 2002/2003 season, the TuS provided a women's team for the first time, and in 2008 they made it to the district league. Until 2011 she took part in the championship game operation.

The first men's team plays in the district league in the 2016/17 season.

Soccer juniors

From the beginning, TuS Holsterhausen also had a youth soccer department. Until the DJK clubs were suspended in 1934, the youth teams reached five group and two district championships. It was the players of the former A-youth who gave the impetus to re-found the club at the end of 1947.

In addition to the sporting education of the children and young people, the development of social cooperation is important to the association. Team rides and other activities promote the bonds and friendships created through sport. Some teams have taken part in international tournaments abroad in recent years - a development that will be further encouraged.

In the 2013/14 season, the youth department provided twelve teams in all age groups, with at least two teams registered for the Bambini, F and E youth. The teams of the A, B and C youth play in the performance class, the highest division of the district.

The square on Pelmanstrasse

Since 1922 the DJK TuS Essen-Holsterhausen 1921 eV has been based on the square on Pelmanstrasse, with interruptions. During the Second World War, the venue was badly damaged and then needed as a rubble site. From October 1949 it was possible to play again on Pelmanstrasse. In June 1995 the city of Essen handed over the facility to the association for independent maintenance. In the summer of 2012, the square was extensively modernized, an artificial turf play area and small standing stands were created.
