The TTC indeland Jülich (formerly TTC Simex Jülich) is a table tennis club from Jülich in the Düren district , North Rhine-Westphalia . From 1977 to 2010 and from 2018 to 2020 he played in the table tennis Bundesliga .

history

The table tennis club was founded in 1948. Under the name TTC Simex Jülich - namesake is the alcohol-based company Simex from Jülich, which acted as a sponsor from 1974 to 1989 - in 1977 they were promoted to the first table tennis league with the players Karl-Heinz Scholl , Engelbert Hüging , Hans- Jürgen Herold, Hans-Josef Peters, Klaus Fillbrunn, cook. Until 2010 the club was a member of the highest German class without interruption and since the 1980s also regularly represented in the European Cup. The manager at this time was Arnold Beginn (born October 16, 1941). The second Jülich men's team played at times in the second Bundesliga, around 1980/81 and 1982/83.

From 2002 to 2006, the TTC formed a syndicate with TTG Hoengen and was officially called “TTC SIG Combibloc Jülich / Hoengen ”, named after the main sponsor. The syndicate was dissolved for the 2006/07 season and the main sponsor withdrew. The club name was changed to "TTC SIG Jülich". Since 2007 the club has played in the Bundesliga under the name TTC indeland Jülich. In addition, Jörg Roßkopf was committed as a leading player.

At the end of the 2009/10 season, Jülich waived a license for the top division and planned to rebuild for the 2nd Bundesliga. The 2017/18 season was curious: On the one hand, Jülich was just able to avoid relegation, on the other hand, they exercised their right to be promoted to the 1st Bundesliga as eighth in the table, because all other clubs waived promotion. After two seasons in the top division, in which a total of only one win, Jülich was relegated.
