The history of Hoengen as an independent municipality ends on January 1, 1972 with the merger of the municipalities of Hoengen and Bettendorf and the city of Alsdorf to form the city of Alsdorf due to the Aachen Act . The districts of the former municipality of Hoengen thus became districts of Alsdorf. As the name of the association, Hoengen suggested “Broichtal” instead of “Alsdorf”, but was unable to assert itself.

The Hoengen stop was at the junction of Jülicher Strasse and Am Müschekamp / Weißstrasse at kilometer 13.7. Before the shutdown and dismantling, the stop had a side platform and a bus shelter.
