Blumenrath is a south-eastern district of Alsdorf in the Aachen city region . In the south lies the Alsdorf district of Broicher Siedlung, in the east the Begau and in the north Mariadorf . The district has an open all-day elementary school ( Pestalozzi School) and a kindergarten.

history

The Aachener Bergmannssiedlungsgesellschaft mbH (ABS) built the Blumenrath settlement in several construction phases from 1928 to 1958. The miners' settlement got its name after the Second World War after Gut Blumenrath. It originally belonged to Mariadorf , which was incorporated into the city of Alsdorf on January 1, 1972 . The area developed into a separate district. The property on the corner of Poststrasse and Pestalozzistrasse was intended for the construction of a Catholic church.
