history

In the 1910s, a few private houses were built at the northern exit of Alsdorf towards Baesweiler. In the 1920s, apartments for miners follow the pit Anna III , a shaft that was used for personnel transport and ventilation. In 1942, the Eschweiler Mining Association ( EBV) set up a barrack camp for a maximum of 600 Eastern workers in the area of the mine in Neuweiler . Due to damage in the mountains , numerous residential buildings had to be demolished after the Second World War , and so Neuweiler shrank to its present size. To the north of the district, a larger shopping center was built in the 1980s, which has been followed by other commercial buildings in recent years.
