Duffesheide is a south-western district of Alsdorf in the Aachen city region near the municipal border with Würselen and Herzogenrath . In the north is the Alsdorf district of Zopp , in the east Ofden . The district consists of only a few streets and little development. It also includes the Radsberg and Reifeld districts.

history

Until the local reorganization , which came into force on January 1, 1972, Duffesheide, Radsberg and Reifeld belonged to the municipality of Bardenberg . Old names are "Douffesheidt" and "Daubenheydt".

Between Duffesheide and Bardenberg was the "Community" shaft from the Eschweiler Bergwerkverein EBV. The original plan was to put the shaft into operation as a complete mine. However, before that, in 1907, the EBV merged with the " Vereinigungsgesellschaft für Steinkohlenbau im Wurmrevier ". Therefore, the shaft was only used as a weather shaft for the Anna pit . The embankment that had already been built for the rail connection to the pit had lost its meaning.

traffic

The next junctions are “Alsdorf” and “Broichweiden” on the A 44 and “Würselen” on the A 4 . The next Euregiobahn stops are "Alsdorf- Annapark ". The nearest long-distance train stations are “ Herzogenrath ” on the Aachen – Geilenkirchen – Mönchengladbach line and “ Eschweiler Hbf ” on the Aachen – Düren – Cologne line .
