The hamlet Schleibach is a southern district of Alsdorf in the Aachen city region . In the north Schleibach borders directly on the district of Ofden and in the south on the Würselen district of Euchen .

history

1146 Schleibach is mentioned for the first time as an allod at Sledebach. In the 15th century Schleibach can be found in the spelling Sleybach or Schleybach to determine corridors in documents. During this time, however, private landowners or tenants of these areas were assigned to the villages of Ofden or Euchen. After the occupation of the area on the left bank of the Rhine in 1798 by the French, Schleibach became a hamlet of the newly founded mayor's office Broich. In 1935 it was incorporated into the Broichweiden community . In 1972 Schleibach was then connected to the mining town of Alsdorf. The hamlet still has an agricultural character today.

traffic

The B 57 runs west of Schlebach and the L 164 to the east . Both of these run towards Würselen . Direct access is only possible to the B57. In the north the Schleibacher Weg connects the hamlet with Ofden and in the south the Euchener Weg Euchen. The next junctions are "Alsdorf" and "Broichweiden" on the A 44 . The next stop on the Euregiobahn is Kellersberg , the next station on the Cologne – Aachen line is Eschweiler Hbf .
