Busch is a north-western district of Alsdorf in the Aachen city region . In the south is the Alsdorf district of Zopp , in the east the city center with the Annapark and in the west the Herzogenrath district of Merkstein .

history

In the spring of 1921 , the Aachener Bergmannssiedlungsgesellschaft mbH (ABS) built the first residential buildings in the Busch settlement on fallow land. In 1955, after several construction phases, there are 845 residential units here. In 1926 the Catholic elementary school was opened, later also a Protestant one.

The foundation stone of the Christ the King Church was laid on November 6, 1927 and its consecration on October 21, 1928. 1957 to 1959 it is expanded. The Christ the King Rifle Brotherhood is founded in 1932. Since April 1st 1952 Christ-König has been a parish. In 1954 the youth home is completed, later also a kindergarten and a nursing home .

Franciscan Sisters have had a branch in Busch since September 20, 1948 .

The Protestant Immanuel Church is inaugurated on December 18, 1960.

The nearest long-distance train stations are “ Herzogenrath ” on the Aachen – Geilenkirchen – Mönchengladbach line and “ Eschweiler Hbf ” on the Aachen – Düren – Cologne line .
