history
The table tennis club was founded on May 9, 1983. The club is a member of the West German Table Tennis Association (WTTV) and the German Table Tennis Association (DTTB). Under the name - TTG Backparadies Bongards Hoengen - (a company from Alsdorf-Hoengen), they were promoted to the first table tennis league in 1999 . The club played in this top division until 2002.
TTG Rot-Schwarz Hoengen is in 36th place in the all-time 1st Bundesliga table (as of 2007).
From 54 completed championship games, 14 were won, 33 lost and 7 draws round off the result. The game difference was recorded at 194: 268 and the points were counted as 35:73.
From 2002 to 2007, TTG formed a syndicate in the 1st Bundesliga with TTC Jülich . During this time, the syndicate officially bore the name "TTC SIG Combibloc Jülich / Hoengen". With the end of the 2006/07 season, the syndicate was dissolved.
The club started with the 1983/1984 season in the 3rd district class and rose to the 1st Bundesliga as champions of the 2nd Bundesliga in the 1998/1999 season. The 11 promotions from the 3rd district class to the 1st Bundesliga (a total of 12 divisions) took place in just 16 years.

The TT-Inter-Cup was won in the 1998/1999 season.
Second was the Entente Pongiste Isseenne team (France).

Club champions
In the following, the TTG club champions are listed both in singles and doubles.
Because of the great difference in playing strength within the club, the two disciplines traditionally play according to certain modalities.
In the games for the individual championship, a player in the lower class receives one point requirement per set.
In the fight for the double championship, two groups of equal size are formed. The two groups are divided according to their skill level. During the draw, one better will be drawn to one weaker. The women do not play their own doubles championship.

Roll of honor
Excerpts from the Honor Regulations of November 9, 1992
The award of the bronze badge of honor requires at least 10 years of membership from the age of 16. Because of the large number of honors made with the bronze needle, those honored are not listed here.
The silver badge is awarded if you have the bronze badge and have been a member for at least 25 years.
The award of the badge of honor in gold takes place after the award of the badge of honor in silver and requires a membership of at least 40 years.
A special feature is that badges of honor can be awarded early if there is active activity within the association. The activities are assessed according to defined criteria and counted towards membership in the association. This is also intended to honor past contributions to the club.
The letter of honor can be awarded to men and women who have made these services outside of the club in recognition of special merits in promoting sport.
People who have rendered exceptional service to the association can be appointed honorary members by the general assembly.
Chairpersons who have made special contributions to the association over many years can be appointed honorary chairpersons by the general assembly .
