Location of the municipality Eggebek in the Schleswig-Flensburg district | ||
Eggebek ( Danish : Eggebæk) is a municipality on the Treene in the Schleswig-Flensburg district in Schleswig-Holstein . It is named after the Eggebek, a brook in the municipality. Eggebek-Süd, Eggebek-Norderfeld, Eggebek-Westerfeld and Tüdal are in the municipality.
history
Eggebek is one of the oldest church villages in the Schleswig Geest , the church of which was built in the 12th century. The architectural style of this brick church is Romanesque and has an apse , which is rare in northern Germany .
The place is first mentioned in 1352 as Egbek , although the name probably means more stream on the edge than - as is often assumed - Eichenbach .
politics
Community representation
After the local elections on May 6, 2018, there are four parties with 13 seats in the local council in Eggebek. These had the following distribution of seats: the CDU six seats, the voter community FWE four, the voter community AbfE two and the voter community WfE one seat. Bent Petersen was unanimously elected mayor on December 4, 2019.
coat of arms
Blazon : "In gold a rooted green oak tree with silver fruits, the trunk of which is underlaid with a lowered, continuous blue wave bar."
The coat of arms of the municipality refers exclusively to the place name. Eggebek is popularly interpreted as "Eichenbach"; This folk etymological explanation of the place name is expressed by the oak tree and the blue wavy bar as a symbol for the brook. The place on the Treene is one of the oldest church places on the Schleswig Geest .
economy
The community area is predominantly agricultural, but also offers service and commercial operations that primarily supply the surrounding area.
In 1960 Eggebek Air Base was reopened, where parts of Naval Air Wing 2 were later stationed. As a result of the restructuring of the Bundeswehr , it was decided in May 2003 to disband the squadron, close the airfield and give it to the community for civilian use. Now there is a recycling center and branches of several small businesses on the site. Are produced e.g. B. the "Flensburg suitcase" called courier vehicle superstructures and parts for wind turbines. A good 60 companies have already settled on the former airfield, including a biogas plant. The runway is used for tank brake tests and the ADAC and the police conduct safety training.
After residents prevented the construction of wind turbines, a solar park with 360,600 modules was built on an area of 160 hectares (including compensation area). In this context, the former runway was built over, so that in the end only 400 meters of 3000 meters remain.
traffic
Eggebek's station on the Neumünster – Flensburg line has now been closed. The next still active train stations are in Jübek and Tarp . The regional traffic to the neighboring cities and communities is guaranteed by buses.
Sports
TSV "Eintracht" Eggebek was founded in 1929. At that time, TSV was the only club in the area where football was played. The club has around 800 members and offers soccer, badminton, jazz dance, “running club”, athletics, swimming, table tennis, gymnastics / gymnastics, hiking, volleyball, tennis, beach volleyball and step aerobics.
There is also the shooting club with around 75 active members.
Scout Farm Tydal
The scout yard of the Dansk Spejderkorps Sydslesvig is located in a natural landscape on the Treene. Tydal is located in a nature area directly on the Treene and extends over forest and meadows. A total of almost 80 beds are available in one house and four scout huts. The tent sites have space for up to 800 people.
Attractions
The list of cultural monuments in Eggebek includes the cultural monuments entered in the list of monuments of Schleswig-Holstein.
There is a maypole on the Thingplatz all year round .
