About this picture

Ringsberg ( Danish : Ringsbjerg , Anglo-Danish : Ringsbjere ) is a municipality in the Schleswig-Flensburg district in Schleswig-Holstein . In addition to the main town of Ringsberg, the municipalities include Ranmark and Süderholz (Danish Sønderskov ).

geography

The community, located near the Baltic Sea , is a state-recognized resort.

history

Ringsberg was first mentioned in 1438 as "Ringhesberge". The meaning of the place name is not known. The community of Ringsberg was established in 1867 by the new Prussian administration. Until the German-Danish War in 1864, the place was administratively part of the parish Munkbrarup ( Munkbrarup Sogn ) within the Munkbrarupharde . Before Nordstrasse ( Bundesstrasse 199 ) was built in 1955, there was said to have been a mountain in Ringsberg, from which the community got its name. The part of the name ring cannot be clearly identified, it may go back to an ancient find or a ring-shaped stone setting.

The municipal reform of 1970, in which the Langballig office was formed, initially provided that Ringsberg should come to the neighboring municipality of Munkbrarup . The then deputy mayor Dietrich Caesar von Langballig , who was later to become mayor and head of office of Langballig, drew a comparison with his Roman namesake Gaius Iulius Caesar and his fight against the Gallic village of Asterix .

In 2017 the congregation celebrated its hundred and fifty years of existence.
