The community's cultural monument is essentially the church with its churchyard.

A legend reports that the churches of Großenwiehe and Medelby were built by two giants at the same time. Since the two only had one hammer to hew the stones, they threw the hammer to each other when necessary. In one of the throws they damaged the tower of the Wallsbüller Church, which is why it now only has a low, separate bell tower. - In the well-known legend about the origin of the ox islands , which are not far from Flensburg, the next larger city, a giant also plays an important role.

Wallsbüll was also the namesake of the northernmost rock festival in Germany, the two-day Wallsbüll Open Air , which is held in the area (including in Osterby and Meynfeld ) . The festival, which was revived in small editions in 2013 (with 2000 guests), took place between 1980 and 2001, when up to 25,000 visitors came in its heyday and bands or musicians such as Guano Apes , Nena , Achim Reichel and Status Quo performed.

The Valsgaard e. V. has been building a Viking Age farm in Wallsbüll since 2009. The shooting for Roel Reiné's film Redbad took place there in September 2017 .
