coat of arms

Blazon : “Under a narrow, four times split red and white shield head divided by gold and green obliquely to the left in a wave cut. In the top a green oak leaf with two acorns, placed at an angle to the left, below a golden marsh yolk flower. "

The shaft section stands for the division of the Jannebyer Feldmark in a northwestern ridge of proportion and southeastern lowlands share . The oak branch symbolizes the many Eichenkratt areas in the Geestrücken area; the two acorns represent the districts of Janneby and Jannebyfeld. The marsh yolk blossom stands for the Jannebyer Moor, which was an important supplier of peat for the local population in earlier times . The red and silver “ turnpike ” in the main shield is dedicated to the Süderzollhaus district. A customs office was set up there in 1569 to collect road tolls for the use of the Flensburg - Husum road .

economy

The community is predominantly agricultural.
