Location of the municipality of Norderbrarup in the Schleswig-Flensburg district | ||
Norderbrarup ( Danish : Nørre Brarup ) is a municipality in the Schleswig-Flensburg district in Schleswig-Holstein .
history
The name Norderbrarup appeared for the first time between 1445 and 1450 as "Nordbradorp". It means "northern village on a slope". In Norderbrarup there are several stone graves that were erected in the Neolithic Age (4300–2300 BC). The places and places of residence Fischerott ( Fiskerød ), Rendekier ( Rendekjær ), Ruruplund (Danish Raaruplund , also Råruplund ), Rurupmühle ( Raarupmølle ) and Lerchenfeld are located in the municipality.
Norderbraurp formed its own parish (Danish sogn ), to which the surrounding villages of Rügge , Saustrup , Scheggerott and Wagersrott also belonged. Before the German-Danish War in 1864 the place and the parish belonged to the Struxdorfharde ( Strukstrup Herred ) within the Gottorf office in the Duchy of Schleswig . It is assumed that the highly documented church in Norderbrarup was once the central church of the Schliesharde ( Sliherred ), from which other churches were founded. Later the parish then changed its administrative affiliation to the Struxdorfharde.
politics
Community representation
Of the nine seats in the municipal council, the SPD has five seats since the 2013 local elections and the KWN electoral community has four.
coat of arms
Blazon : "In the top right with a golden horseshoe, top left with a golden urn, a raised and flattened golden wave tip in the style of a baroque gable, covered with a blue bell tower, covered with a golden bell."
The “baroque gable” symbolizes a Margaret cabinet that was first set up in Norderbrarup.
Economy and Infrastructure
The community is predominantly agricultural. Nine farms are registered (status: 2010). Most of the residents are commuters who work in the larger surrounding areas, some residents also work in Hamburg.
Because it is in the same building, the Knüttelmuseum theme is directly linked to the school theme. In a review by the Schleswig-Holstein newspaper publisher, the Knüttel elementary school was named the best in the district.
Attractions
The list of cultural monuments in Norderbrarup includes the cultural monuments entered in the list of monuments of Schleswig-Holstein.
church
The landmark of the village is the St. Mary's Church, a granite block building that was built around 1200 in the style of the late Romanesque on the northern edge of the village. The roof turret dates from 1625. It contained two bells until it was demolished in a storm in 1932. The tympanum at the entrance to the church is supported by two half-columns. The devil sits under the right column, and under the left column there is a monster fighting with three people. In the tympanum itself the blessing Christ is depicted in the middle with Peter - recognizable by the key - and Paul - with a banner. Inside the church, the Gothic altar from 1450 and the baptismal font with rich minuscule inscription from 1486 are particularly noteworthy.
Next to the church is a single wooden bell tower ( stack of bells ) with three bells hanging in it. It was dated in 2009 by the State Office for the Preservation of Monuments as the oldest bells in fishing and in Schleswig-Holstein with the date "around 1441", whereby theoretically a time span of 1436 and 1455 must be assumed.
A legend reports that the Kappeshoi Castle once stood near Esgrus , where Gut Frauenhof is still located today. According to legend, three old noble ladies with the strange names Tan Nails, May Hues and Tekkel Jerrekoks, who once lived there, were the founders of the church in Norderbrarup, because they wanted to save the time for going to church in Struxdorf .
Amber Museum
An amber museum with an amber grinding shop is located near the location of the Rurup watermill, which is now in the Molfsee open-air museum - State Museum for Folklore in Molfsee .
Knüttel Museum
In the Knüttelmuseum there is a collection of Stone Age finds that originally belonged to the village school and were passed on to the State Museum in Gottorf Castle during the school reform in 1968 . Today it is back in Norderbrarup on loan from the museum. In the Knüttel Museum, materials on the school and local history as well as the Schleswig cold blood are on display.
