Grundhof ( Danish : Grumtoft ) is a municipality in the Schleswig-Flensburg district in Schleswig-Holstein . Bönstrup ( Bønstrup ) and Lutzhöft ( Lyshøj ) belong to the municipality. The community is a state-approved resort.

In 1986 Grundhof won the silver plaque in the national competition Our village should be more beautiful - Our village has a future and was the 1996 state winner in the environmentally friendly community competition .

In Bönstrup there is a village museum in a three-sided courtyard that was built in 1854.

history

Grundhof was first mentioned in 1209 as Grumetold ( settlement place of the Grumi ). The late Romanesque stone church of St. Marien was built in the 12th century. Many of the baptismal fonts and church portals on the Cimbrian Peninsula date from the 13th century. Those from the workshop of the stonemason Horder , whose date of life is only 1175, have characteristic ornaments made of cordage and acanthus tendrils . He is attributed (according to Weilbach's Kunstnerleksikon) 16 works including the font in the Grumtofte Kirke. The churchyard is surrounded by a well-fortified stone wall. 1209 pointed Bishop Nicholas of Schleswig the Rudekloster in today Glücksburg the bishop tithes to. This tax was not abolished until the Reformation . From 1757 to 1763, after a fire, the interior of the church was converted into a baroque hall church in the style of the time . Since then, they have decorated a gallery with 57 biblical oil paintings, a baroque altar, a carved pulpit and a famous organ.

At the time of the Danish rule (until 1864) Grundhof was in the Duchy of Schleswig in the Husbyharde . This harde extended to the Flensburg city limits. Within the Harde, Grundhof was the center of the Langballig - Dolleruper Trint . The three estates Freiewillen , Lundsgaard and Unewatt belonged to the Grundhof office, but had their own administration and jurisdiction.

In Prussia , Grundhof belonged to the Hardevogtei Glücksburg from 1867 .

The Lundsgaard estate, named after the Lund family, dates back to the 15th century. Today the estate is privately owned and used as a seed breeding business.
