23177 Holnisser way Cemetery
(cemetery, tombstones until 1870, cemetery wall, west gate, south gate with front staircase, linden wreath)
The cemetery is laid out around the Grundhofer church and originally had the shape of a square. In 1888 the cemetery was expanded, but the northern part of the cemetery wall was torn down. Another expansion followed in 1920. In 1922 the memorial for those who died in the First World War was erected in the cemetery, to which the names of the victims of the Second World War were added in 1955 . The mighty cemetery wall dates from around 1450. Like the church, it is made of field stones and surrounds the cemetery on three sides. An earlier fourth page was demolished in 1888 for a cemetery extension. It is believed that the complex was built as a defensive wall. A linden wreath with 61 trees is planted on the inside of the Grundhofer cemetery wall and on the church forecourt. The age of the current trees is estimated at 150 years. However, the linden wreath is proven as early as 1687. There is also evidence of a planting outside the wall. Grundhofer Cemetery.JPG
