About this picture

Oersberg ( Danish Ørsbjerg ) is a municipality near Kappeln in the Schleswig-Flensburg district in Schleswig-Holstein . Arrild, Kragelund, Marienfeld, Neu-Oersberg, Reuterberg ( Rytterbjerg ), Schnurrum ( Snurom ), Schrün ( Skryn ), Schweltholm ( Sveltholm ), Toestorf ( Tøstrupgaard or Tøstrup gods ) and Töstrup ( Tøstrup ) belong to the municipality.

history

The church in Toestrup

The place Oersberg (Danish Ørsbjerg ) was first mentioned in 1460. The place name is made up of the Nordic name Øther or Ør and the natural name for mountain (Danish: bjerg , mndt. Berch , nndt. Barch ). The nickname Øther corresponds to the Old High German Authari , which is a combination of Germ. Auða for wealth and -hari for military leaders. The place name Töstrup ( Tøstrup ) was first mentioned in 1231 in King Waldemars Erdbuch as Thøsthorp . It is made up of thorp for village and the nickname Tosti or Tøsti . The latter is a short form for Thorsten, which is a combination of the god name Thor and the Norse Steinn . Today's Toestorf was first mentioned in 1652 as Tösterup Meyerhof . The Meierhof goes back to the abandoned village of Töstrup and was elevated to an estate in 1806. His name was differentiated in German by the takeover of the German village or peat from the older Töstrup. The Danish name is Tøstrupgaard. Arrild was first mentioned in 1460 and goes back to old Norse ari (≈ eagle) (cf. Arnis ). The place name Schweltholm ( Sveltholm ) was first documented in writing in 1804 and goes back to the Danish svælte, svelte (actually ≈ to suffer from hunger ), which was used to describe the low land yield on site

St. John's Church, a stone church with a wooden bell stand ( bell stack ), was built in 1198. The west wall of the church was renewed in 1792, with a new west portal installed. Töstrup was the center of the Töstrup parish ( Tøstrup Sogn ) until the German-Danish War , to which the present-day communities Oersberg and Stoltebüll belonged.

In 1848 the agricultural school was founded. This makes it the oldest in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein.

Incorporations

On January 1, 1971, the community Toesdorf was incorporated.

Good Toestorf

Gut Toestorf was created in 1670 when Gut Roest near Kappeln was split up. The baroque mansion was built in 1765, but the farm buildings have not been preserved.

politics

Community representation

Since the local elections in 2013, the FWG community of voters has all nine seats in the local council.

coat of arms

Blazon : “Raised divided by gold and green by a flattened green three-mountain. Above three green leaves, below an open golden book covered with a golden ear. "

Historical reason: The municipality of Oersberg is located in the fishing landscape in the northern natural area of Schleswig-Holstein's hill country . The green three mountain dividing the coat of arms is intended to indicate the moving topography of the landscape. The open golden book with ears of wheat in the base of the shield reminds of the former agricultural school (1839 / 45–1850) in Oersberg, which was the oldest in the country after Flottbek and Rendsburg . The three leaves symbolize the districts of Arrild, Oersberg and Toestrup. The golden (yellow) background indicates the importance of agriculture with blooming rapeseed fields .

economy

The place is predominantly agricultural. Landesstraße 21 from Flensburg to Kappeln runs through Oersberg.

Attractions
