There are only a few forest areas in the municipality.
history
Sollerup was first mentioned in 1406 as Soldorpe ( swamp village ). The place name goes back to the Danish term for village ( -rup , adän. Thorp , mndt. Dorp ) and the term * Sol meaning marshy place, swamp . The latter part of the name may appear as the name of a region, since Sollbrück and Sollwitt are not far apart. * Sola is also believed to be the old name for the Treene.
An important Treenefurt has always existed in Sollerup. That is why there was also a customs post at the Treenebrücke, which was built later, to Hünning / Esperstoft and Bollingstedt , over which the Altweg, one of the historic fishing paths , led. Today there is another road bridge over the Treene near Sollbrück.
On August 12th 1410 there was a great battle on the Solleruper Heide between the Schauenburgers and the Danes, whose retreat was blocked by the rivers and who therefore lost the battle.
The Sollerup watermill was first mentioned in 1500.
In the course of the Battle of Idstedt there was also a military conflict in the municipality in 1850, namely between Schleswig-Holstein and Danish troops. Cannonballs from the battle are still walled in in the country inn.
After the Second World War , Sollerup was part of the Jörl office , which was added to the newly created Eggebek office in 1968 .
