Bondelum ( Danish : Bondelum , North Frisian : Bonlem , Low German : Bonnelum ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland in Schleswig-Holstein . Apart from the village of Bondelum, the municipality has no other districts.
Geography and traffic
Bondelum is located about 18 km northeast of Husum on the Schleswig Geest . A few kilometers northwest of the federal highway 200 runs from Husum to Flensburg , a few kilometers south of the federal highway 201 from Husum to Schleswig .
history
The place name was first documented in 1352 and means, for example, elevation of a farmer or elevation of Bondi to Danish. bonde for Bauer or Bondi as a given name and holm for a survey. The suffix -holm has like other place names -lum developed (see. Bordelum ).
The place historically belongs to the parish Viöl (Danish. Fjolde Sogn ) within the Nordergoesharde . After the German-Danish War , the place became German or Prussian for the first time. From 1866 to 1934 the place belonged to the parish of Viöl . This was dissolved on April 1, 1934. Many of their villages, village communities and farmers became independent communities, including Bondelum.
