history
The place was first mentioned in 1438. The area of today's municipality was administratively part of the Südergoesharde , which belonged to the Idstedsyssel .
Between 1854 and 1896, Oster-Ohrstedt was connected to the Flensburg – Husum – Tönning railway and the Oster-Ohrstedt – Klosterkrug – Rendsburg railway . Ohrstedt has lost this position as a junction, the passenger trains on the remaining route from Husum via Ohrstedt to Kiel now run without stopping in the North Friesland district directly to Jübek , which has now taken over the position as a junction in this region.
Until the German-Danish War in 1864, the place belonged to the parish of Schwesing ( Svesing Sogn ) within the Duchy of Schleswig, which was part of the Danish state . After the annexation of Schleswig and Holstein by Prussia , the parish Schwesing became a parish land municipality . In addition to Oster-Ohrstedt, it included the five villages of Ahrenviöl , Hochviöl, Immenstedt , Schwesing and Wester-Ohrstedt .
On April 1, 1934, the parish district of Schwesing was dissolved. All of their village communities, village communities and farmers became independent communities / rural communities, including Oster Ohrstedt.
