Lütjenholm ( Danish : Lilholm , North Frisian : Läitjholem ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland in Schleswig-Holstein . Megelberg and Lütjenholmfeld are in the municipality.

Geographical location
The community is located on the edge of the Schleswig Geest east of Langenhorn in the north of the Central North Friesland office .

geology
The municipality is characterized by its location in the natural area of the Schleswig Geest in the area of the Nordergoesharde . It is comparatively extensively forested. The Lütjenholm Heath dunes are located in the municipality . These are a recognized nature reserve . The Lütjen Holmer Süder Heide , a formerly unused by the army training area , in contrast, is already in the neighboring municipality of Bargum.
The municipal area is drained via the Soholmer Au . This is a receiving water of the Bongsiel Canal , which drains into Schlüttsiel into the North Frisian Wadden Sea.
history
On April 1, 1934, the parish of Breklum was dissolved. All of their villages, village communities and farmers became independent communities / rural communities, including Lütjenholm.

The village of Lütjenholm is located about 8 km north-northeast of Bredstedt as the crow flies . The traffic connection in motorized individual traffic is from the federal highway 5 . At the roundabout at the northern entrance to the town in the above-mentioned sub - center , state road 4 branches off in a northerly direction and leads into the municipality via Dbodum .
