Sprakebüll ( Danish : Spragebøl , North Frisian : Språkebel ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland in Schleswig-Holstein . Freienwill, Sandacker (Danish: Sandager , North Frisian: Suneeker ) and Sprakebüllfeld are located in the municipality as are the Gaarde (North Frisian: e Guurd ) and Hogelund (Danish: Høgelund , also Højlund , North Frisian: Huugelün ) goods . The community through which the Lecker Au flows is located in a wooded area.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1498. The place name possibly means settlement of the Spragh , but can also refer to the very wooded area at the time the place was founded.

After the estate districts of Gaarde, Fresenhagen and Hogelund were dissolved, they were incorporated into the community in 1928.

In 1998 a wind park with five wind turbines was built.

Community representation

Of the nine seats in the municipal council, the constituency AWG had five seats since the local elections in 2008 and the constituency AWG 78 had four. The election on May 26, 2013 resulted in the following: AWG six and AWG 78 three seats. The voter turnout was 63.6 percent last.
