Humptrup ( Danish : Humtrup , North Frisian : Humptoorp ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland in Schleswig-Holstein .

geography

Geographical location

Humptrup is located at the transition from the Karr- to the Wiedingharde about three kilometers south of today's border with Denmark . Part of the municipality is also an exclave on Lake Haasberger See . Directly to the north, the border river Süderau (Danish: Sønderå ) runs in a westerly direction. A little later this flows into the Wiedau (Danish: Vidå ) northwest of the municipality .

The municipality consists of the residential areas Flützholm (Danish: Flydsholm ), Gotteskoog ( Gudskog ), Grellsbüll ( Grelsbøl ), Grellsbüll-Feld, Haasberg ( Hasbjerg ), Hattersbüllhallig (part of Hattersbølhallig ), Humptrup ( Humtrup ), Humpahtrup-Feld ( Kalebøl ), Krakebüll ( Kragebøl or Krakebøl ) and Süderdürhus.

history

The place was first documented in writing in 1462. The place name is made up of -trup (old Danish thorp , nordfries . Toorp ) for village and the nickname Hune or Humpi , the latter probably stands with Danish. hump for hobble in connection.

politics

Community representation

Eleven seats of the municipal council had the voter community AWGH since the local elections in 2008 four, the SPD and SSW three seats; there was also a non-party representative. The election on May 26, 2013 resulted in the following: AWGH and SPD each with four and the SSW three seats. The turnout was at last 55.8 percent.

mayor

Erich Johannsen (SPD) was elected as the new mayor for the 2013–2018 election period. He succeeds Andreas Heinsen, who held the office for 27 years.

There is a Danish school ( Bavnehøj-Skolen ) and a Danish kindergarten in the municipality .

traffic

To the east of Humptrup, federal highway 5 (B 5) runs through the neighboring towns of Süderlügum and Braderup in a north-south direction. This route was originally part of the former Green Coastal Road holiday route . Roughly parallel, the Niebüll – Tønder railway runs from Niebüll to Tondern (Danish: Tønder) through the municipality. The nearest train stations are in Süderlügum and Niebüll. The place is accessed by a country road from Süderlügum to Braderup via Uphusum. The northern end branches off from Landesstraße 2 to the west of the railway crossing in Süderlügum ; the southern end is in Braderup directly on the B 5.
