Ramstedt ( Danish : Ramsted ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland in Schleswig-Holstein .

Geography and traffic

Ramstedt is about twelve kilometers southeast of Husum and about five kilometers northeast of Friedrichstadt in a rural area. Bundesstraße 202 , which connects Friedrichstadt with Rendsburg , runs south of the municipality . Ramstedt connects directly to the north-west of Schwabstedt .

The municipality lies on the border of the Eider-Treene lowland with its extensive moorland and the Geest .

history

A megalithic grave in the municipality proves a prehistoric settlement of the place. Ramstedt was first mentioned in 1378. North of the village are bunkers from the Second World War in the Geest.

In the course of 1934 the parish land community Schwabstedt was dissolved. All of its villages, village communities and farmers became independent communities, including Ramstedt on April 1, 1934.

In 1994 Ramstedt received an award as the most environmentally friendly municipality in Schleswig-Holstein.

Community representation

Of the nine seats in the municipal council has Wählergemeinschaft AAWG since the municipal election 2008, five seats and the voter community WGR four. In the local elections on May 26, 2013, the AAWG received 68.1 percent and thus six seats. The NWGR had three seats with 31.9 percent. The turnout was 64.3 percent.

Holger Schefer was elected mayor for the 2018–2023 election period.
