Horstedt ( Danish : Horsted , North Frisian : Hoorst ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland in Schleswig-Holstein . Horstedtfeld and Kronenburg are in the municipality.

Geographical location
The municipality of Horstedt extends on both sides of the landscape transition from the Schleswig Geest to the southern part of the North Frisian Marsch northeast of Husum .

history
The place name was first documented in writing to 1438 and means facility, home of the Horsi to -stedt (altdän. Stath neudän. Sted in North Frisian to -st reduced) and hormone for horses (see. Altdän. Horsi ).
Until the German-Danish War in 1864, the place was in the parish of Hattstedt ( Hatsted Sogn ) of the Südergoesharde ( Sønder Gøs Herred ) of the Duchy of Schleswig .
On April 1, 1934, the parish Hattstedt was dissolved. All of their village communities, village communities and farmers became independent communities / rural communities, including Horstedt.

Horstedt is located on the historic Westlicher Ochsenweg . Today the west passes through the village , the federal highway 5 the municipality. It forms here the northern start of the full height freely as a dual carriageway developed bypass Husum .
The closest train station is in Husum . The place is at four stops by the on- call bus Husum Umland and the bus line 1031 ( school bus ). The company Rohde Verkehrsbetriebe currently (as of 2019) has the license to operate this transport .
