Pellworm (emphasis on the second syllable; Danish Pelvorm , Frisian Polweerm , Pälweerm ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland in Schleswig-Holstein .
In addition to the island of Pellworm, the municipality also includes the small Halligen Süderoog and Südfall .
Pellworm is a North Sea spa .
geography
The island of Pellworm is divided into Köge : Alter Koog , Bupheverkoog , Großer Koog , Großer Norderkoog , Hunnenkoog , Johann-Heimreich-Koog , Kleiner Koog , Kleiner Norderkoog , Mittelster Koog , Ostersielkoog , Süderkoog , Ütermarkerkoog and Westerkoog . Areas that are not diked are in the north (Norderhallig or Norder-Hallig) and at Ostersiel in the east (Junkernhallig or Junkern-Hallig).
There are in 14 districts: Old Church , Hooger Ferry , Junker Mitteldeich , Monastery Mitteldeich , Nordermitteldeich , Easter Schütting , Parliament , Seegarden , Schmerhörn , Southshore Mitteldeich , Tammensiel , Tilli , Waldhusen and Wester Schütting . The main town of the Pellworm community is Tendetam in the east.

Until the end of 2007, the building and headquarters of the Pellworm Office (municipalities of Gröde , Hooge , Langeneß and Pellworm) were located in Torgensiel. Since January 1, 2008, the office and thus also the community has been administered by the city of Husum as part of an administrative community . There is a branch office of the administration in Torgensiel.

Community representation
Of the eleven seats in the municipal council, the CDU and SPD have each had four seats since the 2018 local elections and the WGP electoral community three.
mayor
From 1990 to 2005 Jürgen Feddersen (CDU) was mayor of the Pellworm community. Since 2000 he was also a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament . He was followed by Klaus Jensen (CDU) from 2005 to 2013 . After Jensen won a direct mandate in the state electoral district of North Friesland-South in the state elections in 2012 , Jürgen Feddersen took over the office of mayor again. For the 2018–2023 electoral period, Norbert Nieszery , the former leader of the SPD parliamentary group in the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , was elected mayor by the local council. However, he resigned with effect from May 17, 2020. He was temporarily followed by the previous deputy mayor Martin Jansen.
Astrid Korth (non-party member of the SPD parliamentary group) has been mayor since June 18, 2020.
