Joldelund ( Danish Hjoldelund , North Frisian Jåålönj ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland in Schleswig-Holstein .
geography
Geographical location
The municipality is located in the center of the Schleswigsche Geest landscape in the middle of the spacious and sparsely populated quadrangle of the (rural) central locations Bredstedt , Viöl , Schafflund and Leck in the district of North Friesland . The Kammberg ( Kambjerg ) is located in the western part of the municipality . The Ostenau , a tributary of the Arlau, flows on the southern edge of the municipality . This is also fed by the water of the main receiving water flowing through the community, Neue Au .

history
In the Iron Age , iron was extracted from lawn iron stone in the municipality . The melting furnaces can still be viewed today.
The stone church was built around 1200. In 1771 the windmill was built.
After the annexation of Schleswig-Holstein by Prussia, the area of the parish Joldelund was formed into a parish land municipality . It comprised the four villages of Goldebek , Goldelund , Joldelund and Kolkerheide . On April 1, 1934, the parish rural communities were dissolved, and the village communities have since formed independent rural communities. They still belong to the Joldelund parish today.

In the municipal elections on May 6, 2018, the WGJ electoral community won seven seats, the AfWJ two.
In the previous municipal election in 2013, there were also seven seats for the WGJ and two for the AfWJ.

At the constituent meeting of the municipal council on June 12, 2018, Reiner Hansen was again elected mayor by the municipal council members.

Attractions
Joldelund's landmark is the Kellerholländer windmill built in 1771 . The windmill was a privileged property mill and was therefore not subject to the compulsory mill .
The church (hall), named after the Parisian bishop St. Dionysius, was first mentioned in a document in 1240.

General
The municipality is predominantly agricultural . Tourism is an economic mainstay for several rental companies. There is also a branch practice of a general practitioner in the village . In addition, there is a branch of VR Bank Nord and the branch of a primary school ( Lüttschool Drelsdorf-Joldelund ).

Joldelund is off the federal trunk road network. In the area of motorized private transport , the town is connected to the nearest federal highways ( B 5 and B 200 ) via Landesstraße 12 (L 12) between Bredstedt and Wanderup . In the neighboring town of Goldebek, Landesstraße 281 branches off from you, which leads directly through the village and then continues via Löwenstedt to the B 200 in Haselund .
