history
The settlement of the place took place from 1847. In 1893 the place got its own train station on the railway line from Husum to Jübek , which was closed again after the Second World War. Because of the train station, Ahrenviölfeld was popularly known as “Ahrenviöl-Bahnhof”, which at that time was mostly the address on mail.
The place originally belonged to the village of Ahrenviöl in the parish of Schwesing and thus to the administrative district of the same name in the Husum district . On April 1, 1934, the parish district of Schwesing was dissolved. All of their villages, village communities and farmers became independent communities, including Ahrenviöl. On December 1, 1934, Ahrenviölfeld was detached as a new municipality from the municipality of Ahrenviöl.
In 1948 the district of Schwesing was dissolved and the communities formed the parish land community of Wester-Ohrstedt, which changed the name to Amt Wester-Ohrstedt in the same year. With the formation of the district of North Friesland, the office was dissolved in 1970 and Ahrenviölfeld came to the office of Obere Arlau, which in 1978 changed its name to Amt Viöl.
