Immenstedt ( Danish : Immingsted ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland in Schleswig-Holstein . Immenstedt-Bahnhof, Immenstedtfeld, Immenstedtholz and Immenstedt-Kiel are in the municipality.
Geography and traffic
Immenstedt is about 10 km northeast of Husum on a tributary of the Arlau and the federal road 200 from Husum to Flensburg . In the municipality there is an extensive beech forest, some of which is state forest.
history
The place was first mentioned as Imming in the 13th century.
Until the German-Danish War in 1864 the place to parish Schwesing (belonged Svesing Sogn ) within the to Denmark belonging to the Duchy of Schleswig . After the annexation of Schleswig and Holstein by Prussia , a parish land municipality was formed from the area of the parish of Schwesing . In addition to Immenstedt, it included the five villages of Ahrenviöl , Hochviöl, Schwesing , Oster-Ohrstedt and Wester-Ohrstedt .
On April 1, 1934, the parish district of Schwesing was dissolved. All of their village communities, village communities and farmers became independent communities / rural communities, including Immenstedt.
Noble estate Immenstedt
In 1590, the dukes of Gottorf, who owned the estate since 1438, built a hunting lodge. However, the hunting lodge was demolished in 1712 due to dilapidation.

mayor
Johannes Feddersen (AWI) was re-elected mayor for the 2018–2023 election period. After his departure, Eckhard Abel was elected mayor.
