Holm is a rural municipality in the district of North Friesland in Schleswig-Holstein. It is co-administered by the South Tondern Office. Gotteskoog is located in the municipality.

Geography and traffic

The community is on the edge of the Geest, west of federal highway 5 . The closest train stop is in the neighboring community of Uphusum on the Niebüll-Tondern railway line . Only local trains stop there. The closest intercity stop is Niebüll train station, about 6 km away.

history

The first documentary mention was made in 1497. Holm is the name for an island or elevation in Low German as well as in North Frisian and Danish .

politics

Since the local elections in 2003, the WGH community of voters has all seven seats in the local council. The election on May 26, 2013 produced the same result. The last voter turnout was 75.8 percent.
