coat of arms
Blazon : "In silver, a red hawk with black armor ready to fly, who wants to settle on a continuous, low red brick wall, which is covered with two gold wall anchors, each with a branching spiral, and a blue wave bar in the base of the shield."
Historical reason: The eye-catching figure of the coat of arms of the municipality of Tinningstedt is the approaching falcon. Until 1586, a "Valkenlegge", a falcon fishing ground, was maintained in the village. This facility probably served the ducal court. Although located deep inland on the Geest, the village and its inhabitants were constantly threatened by the flooding of their meadows by the North Sea, which penetrated far inland. In particular, the storm surges of 1532 and 1634 brought the sea to the limits of the municipality. The wavy bar in the coat of arms refers to these natural events. At the same time, it represents a meadow flowing through the local area. The oldest farm in the district of Stockholmacker has wall anchors in line with rural building tradition. These are included in the coat of arms as an example of rural culture. The most recent event addressed by the coat of arms is the abolition of the field community in 1808. After that, the evacuation from the center and the settlement of the field mark began, symbolized by the wall in the coat of arms that suggests a house.

traffic
Tinningstedt is off the German trunk road network. The closest federal highways 199 and 5 meet in the neighboring municipality of Klixbüll. Right next to the northern exit of the village, Landesstraße 3 branches off from the B 5 in a north-easterly direction . After a drive of about 3.5 km, it leads directly through the center of Tinningstedt and from there on to Ladelund .
The nearest train stations are at the Marschbahn in Niebüll and Uphusum ( request stop , route to Tondern )
To the south, directly adjacent to the municipality, is the Leck Airfield , a landing area (grass runway) of the former Leck Air Base that has now been released for civilian air traffic .
