Ludwig Claussen (born April 19, 1906 in Tinningstedt ; † March 25, 1974 ) was a German CDU politician .

Life and work

Claussen, who was Protestant-Lutheran , attended the teachers' college in Rendsburg after primary school and a private high school . After the second teacher examination, he became a private tutor in Westerland on Sylt in 1927 , before he was in the school service of the German minority in North Schleswig from 1929 to 1945. After the Second World War, Claussen went to North Friesland, where he became a teacher in 1947 and later a main teacher at the elementary school in Niebüll .

Political party

Claussen had been a member of the CDU since 1948. In 1956 he became chairman of the district association of South Tondern of his party, and later also of the state executive.

MP

Claussen was a community representative in Niebüll from 1948 to 1953.

From 1950 until his resignation on December 31, 1969, Claussen was a member of the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein . He represented the constituency of Südtondern in parliament. From 1950 to 1954 he was chairman of the People's Education Committee, of which he was deputy chairman from 1954 to May 22, 1968. From 1954 to 1958 he was deputy chairman of the submission committee. Claussen was a member of the third Federal Assembly that elected Heinrich Lübke as Federal President on July 1, 1959 .

Cultural work

Before 1945 Claussen was involved in the German nationality work in North Schleswig . From 1960 to 1961 he was President of the Frisian Council and then Chairman of the North Friesland section of this body. He was also a member of the boards of the Border Policy Council and the North Frisian Association for Local Studies and Homeland Love .

Honors

Claussen was awarded the First Class Cross of Merit of the Federal Cross of Merit on February 26, 1968 at the suggestion of the state government .
