Uphusum (Danish Ophusum ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland in Schleswig-Holstein .

Geography and traffic

The municipality is located near the Danish border, not far from federal highway 5 , the green coastal road on the border between Geest and Marsch .

Since May 2007, Uphusum has again had a stop on the Niebüll – Tønder railway line . There was a train station in the community before, but it was closed by the Deutsche Bundesbahn.

politics

In the local elections on May 26, 2013, the community of voters (UWG) received all nine seats. The turnout was 45.9 percent.
