Klaus Jensen (born October 16, 1958 in Pellworm ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament since 2012 .

education and profession

Klaus Jensen attended elementary and secondary school on the island of Pellworm from 1965 to 1974 , then went to a grammar school in Husum and graduated from high school in 1978. After one year of basic military service in the armed forces, he studied agricultural sciences at the Rendsburg University of Applied Sciences and graduated in 1984 with a degree in agricultural engineering. From 1984 to 1991 he worked as a business consultant for the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Agriculture, but from 1989 he also became self-employed as a restaurateur in the family business on Pellworm.

Klaus Jensen is married and has three children.

Voluntary Policy

Jensen was a member of the Pellworm municipal council from 1994 to 2013 . From 2005 to 2013 he was also mayor and head of the Pellworm office. In addition, he was a member of the district council of the North Friesland district from 1998 to 2012. From 2005 to 2013 he was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein Local Council in North Friesland and had been chairman there since 2008.

Since November 1, 2014, Klaus Jensen has been deputy district chairman of the CDU North Friesland.

MP

In the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein in 2012 , he won a direct mandate in the Husum electoral district with 39.6% of the first votes and thus entered the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament .

In the 18th electoral term, Jensen was first secretary in the state parliament, member of the Environment and Agriculture Committee as well as the Petitions Committee and deputy member of the European Committee. In the current 19th electoral term, Jensen is a member of the Environment and Agriculture Committee and the Economic Committee, and he is also a deputy member of the Petitions Committee. He is currently the fishing and tourism policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group.

He is a member of the Low German Advisory Board.

In the 2017 state elections , Klaus Jensen once again entered the state parliament with 41.3 percent of the first votes as a directly elected member of the North Friesland-South constituency for the 19th electoral term.

Further honorary positions

Jensen has been on the board of the Water Association North since 1996 .
