The North Sea-Treene office was formed on January 1, 2008 from the communities of the former Friedrichstadt offices (with the exception of the city of Friedrichstadt), Hattstedt , Nordstrand and Treene .

The office forms a ring around the city of Husum and is in the west through the North Sea, in the north through the office Mittleres Nordfriesland , in the northeast through the office Viöl , in the east through the Schleswig-Flensburg district , in the south through the city Friedrichstadt and the Eider and bounded in the southwest by the Eiderstedt office .
