Official municipalities
history
The office was formed in 1967 as the Eiderstedt-West office from the municipalities of the parishes of Garding / Osterhever , Tating and Tetenbüll and initially comprised twelve municipalities.
With the formation of the district of North Friesland , the Oldenswort office was dissolved in 1970 and the two municipalities of the office, Norderfriedrichskoog and Oldenswort, were incorporated into the office, which was then renamed the Eiderstedt office. With the dissolution of the parish Tönning office , the municipality of Kotzenbüll took office in 1974.
In 2002 the municipality of Augustenkoog was incorporated into Osterhever. In 2006 the city of Garding and in 2008 the municipality of Sankt Peter-Ording joined the office. Since 2010 the office has been an administrative community with the non-official city of Tönning .
