Administrative community (Schleswig-Holstein)

The administrative community is a form of administrative cooperation in Schleswig-Holstein between municipalities , offices , districts , special purpose associations or other associations based on law . The municipalities or associations of municipalities can also form an administrative association with other corporations , institutions or foundations under public law . In the administrative community, one contractual partner uses the administration of another to fulfill its tasks.

An administrative community is normally created through a public law contract in accordance with Section 19a of the Law on Municipal Cooperation (GKZ). In exceptional cases, an administrative community can also be created by ordinance of the state government.

Administrative communities between municipalities and offices

In 2008 there were eleven municipalities and 12 offices that were administered as part of an administrative community. Since January 1, 2014 there are 16 municipalities and nine offices that are administered as part of an administrative community:

On January 1, 2012, nine offices were administered by full-time administrations of municipalities. However, these are not administrative communities in the sense of this article, but offices with a managing official municipality, since the municipalities are members of the office.
