coat of arms
Blazon : "In blue the gold nimbly, silver and gold clad Christ, the right hand raised as a blessing, in the left holding the red globe with the golden cross."
The only figure in the coat of arms of the Wilstermarsch office, Christ represented as Salvator mundi with the globe in his left hand, can be found next to the Holstein nettle leaf and the Stormarn swan in the Steinburg district coat of arms from 1928. Both the representation on the older district coat of arms and that of the The more recent official coats of arms represent a recourse to the seal of the old Wilstermarschkommüne, first documented in 1607, which was repealed at the end of the 19th century. As an administrative body, although it had many different tasks than the current office, it can be regarded as its predecessor, which is the use of the Salvator motif in the official coat of arms justifies. Like the reference to Christ as Redeemer in Garding's seal, which is also early modern , the choice of motif for the Wilstermarschkommune seal cannot be explained.
