Official municipalities
history
The Schenefeld Office is not a historical administrative territory and is not a regional authority today either . It has existed in its current form since April 1, 1970. In the course of the administrative reform at that time , 17 municipalities of the Rendsburg district, which existed until then, were incorporated into the Steinburg district, including seven municipalities of the old Schenefeld office and ten municipalities of the former Wacken office . From the same resolution Office Hohenaspe communities Christinenthal, Hadenfeld, Kaisborstel, Looft, Pöschendorf and Reher joined the new office, which have already been assigned since 1867 the district Steinburg. Before that, these communities also belonged to the Rendsburg district.
coat of arms
Blazon : “Divided in the Göpel cut. 1 in red a silver ploughshare; 2 in silver a six-spoke red wagon wheel; 3 set up fourteen times from silver and red to the center of the shield. "
With the three-part division of the coat of arms of the junior office of Schenefeld, which emerged as part of the municipal reform in 1970, reference is made to its emergence from the offices of Schenefeld and Wacken and parts of the Hohenaspe office . The change in the lower third indicates the large number of municipalities belonging to the office. The ploughshare symbolizes the high importance of agriculture in the official area. The wheel represents the very large part of the population who work in trade, craft and trade, but also refers to the mobility of many workers as commuters . The tincture of the coat of arms in the Holstein colors of red and silver emphasizes the importance of the original church game Schenefeld as the "predecessor" of the office in the early history of the region (cf. the coat of arms of the community of the same name).
