history

The Trittau office grew out of the bailiwick of the castle built in Trittau in 1326. From 1544 to 1773 it belonged to the Duchy of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf . A total of 36 villages formed the office. It reached to Rümpel , Neritz , Nahe , Stuvenborn and Sievershütten . The bailiff had his seat at the Trittau palace or the former castle. In 1773 the offices of Reinbek and Trittau were placed under the administration of a common bailiff. The first joint bailiff was Andreas August von Hobe . Because the castle was in disrepair, he then took up his seat in Reinbek. Trittau Castle was sold and later demolished.

After the German-Danish War (1864) and the German War of Prussia against Austria (1866), the way to the Prussian annexation of the duchies of Schleswig and Holstein was clear. Trittau became Prussian in 1867 and from then on belonged to the newly formed Stormarn district. In 1888, with the new district order, new administrative districts were formed. The Trittau district remained in place, but it was considerably reduced in size. In 1929 only the communities Grande, Hamfelde, Hohenfelde, Köthel, Trittau and Rausdorf belonged to the office. Witzhave, which was spun off to the Ohe District in 1897, fell back to the newly formed Trittau District in 1948.

The current expansion of the Trittau office was not achieved until the 1970s. In 1970/72 there was an administrative reform in which the Lütjensee office was dissolved and its municipalities Großensee, Grönwohld and Lütjensee were added to the Trittau office.

administration

The municipalities are independent, each have their own municipal council and their own household. All municipalities, with the exception of Trittau, are led by an honorary mayor. The municipal administration of the municipality of Trittau takes over the administration of the municipalities in accordance with the official contract and is also the official administration of the Trittau office.
