Sievershütten is a municipality in the Segeberg district in Schleswig-Holstein .
Geography and traffic
Sievershütten with its districts Heide, Karlsburg, Hasenhörn, Dänischmüssen, Im Busch is located about 20 km north of Norderstedt in a rural setting. To the west, the federal highway 7 runs from Hamburg to Schleswig , to the north the federal highway 206 from Itzehoe to Bad Segeberg and east the federal highway 432 from Norderstedt to Bad Segeberg.
history
Sievershütten emerged from a former glassworks , which was first mentioned in 1483 on a tax list of the Trittau office under the name to der Hutten . Around 1700 the place was already called Sievertshütten , after the glassworks owner and farmer bailiff Sievert Steenbuck . The glass industry died out in the 18th century.

The municipality is predominantly agricultural. A small industrial estate has settled on the site of the former dairy .
Attractions
In the list of registered cultural monuments of Schleswig-Holstein is Fachhallenhaus Kate admitted to Church Street. 11 Built in 1763 former Räucherkate ( Rookhus ) has a thatched hipped roof and walls made of brick Tudor . It was restored in 2001 and is a listed building .
