Location of the municipality of Alveslohe in the Segeberg district | ||
Alveslohe is a municipality in the Segeberg district in Schleswig-Holstein . The community also includes the Hope district and the Kaden Estate .
history
The place emerged as a scattered Saxon settlement with many individually located farms, whose names are sometimes used as field names. The place name is derived from the former owners of Gut Kaden, who were first mentioned as von Alverslö in 1292. Just like Ellerau , the municipality of Alveslohe has been independent since 1875. In 2001, 200 hectares of the community area were ceded to Henstedt-Ulzburg and Ellerau, and a new residential area is to be built on this area.
Districts
Good Kaden
The Kaden estate has been in use since the Middle Ages. The former manor building burned down during the Swedish-Polish War of Succession. The current mansion was built around 1765, and a three-sided courtyard was created together with the farm buildings. Today's classicist building was designed by the architect Ernst Georg Sonnin , who also designed the Michaelis Church in Hamburg , and was later rebuilt into its current form. Benedikt Wilhelm von Ahlefeldt abolished serfdom at Gut Kaden as early as 1709 and was one of the first in Holstein, alongside Hans zu Rantzau . The Kaden estate was abolished in 1928 and the estate was incorporated into Alveslohe.
Today there is a golf course on Gut Kaden, where the open European championship in golf takes place every year (winner among others Bernhard Langer ). The estate itself is not freely accessible to the public, but the courtyard side can be entered. A restaurant is located in the manor house.

coat of arms
Blazon : “In green, a silver triangular shield with a red arrow iron (beam) with the point to the right; in the base of the shield a narrower silver wave bar above an equally wider one. "
The triangular sign with the arrow iron cites the seal of the knight Henning Alverslo, owner of the Kaden estate, from the year 1385. It recalls the historical development of the place from the dependent community to a modern commune. The two wavy bars symbolize the geographical location of the place between the rivers Krückau and Pinnau.
flag
Description: "On green flag cloth upwards and towards the pole, the figures of the municipal coat of arms are tinged according to the flag, the waves of the coat of arms, however, as straight stripes, a narrow one at the top, a wider one at the bottom."

Alveslohe is on line A3 (formerly Elmshorn-Barmstedt-Oldesloer Eisenbahn ) of the AKN , which runs from Henstedt-Ulzburg to Elmshorn . Passenger traffic in this area ceased in 1973 and resumed in the 1990s. Today there is usually an hourly train in each direction.
