Location of the municipality of Nützen in the Segeberg district | ||
Nützen is a municipality in the Segeberg district in Schleswig-Holstein . Kampen and Springhirsch are in the municipality.
Geography and traffic
Nützen is about seven kilometers south of Bad Bramstedt between federal highway 4 from Hamburg to Neumünster and federal highway 7 , which also leads from Hamburg to Neumünster.
Kampen was originally a farming village, and Springhirsch is located directly on Bundesstraße 4.
history
The Kaltenkirchen satellite camp was located in Springhirsch between August 1944 and April 1945 . The prisoners were supposed to expand the runways of the Kaltenkirchen military airfield. 500–700 prisoners were murdered.
Due to the planned construction of the large Kaltenkirchen airport in the 1950s , which was never carried out, the population of the community fell temporarily and several buildings were demolished.
Today the memorial of the Kaltenkirchen satellite camp , a satellite camp of the Neuengamme concentration camp near Hamburg, is located in Springhirsch .
politics
Community representation
Of the eleven seats in the municipal council, the constituency AWG has seven seats since the 2013 local elections and the constituency PLN four.
coat of arms
Blazon : "Divided by green and blue by an inclined silver wave bar, above three golden hazelnuts with black husks, arranged in a fan shape to form a wave bar, below a silver millstone broken down to form a wave bar."
Economy and Infrastructure
Due to the sandy soils, agriculture in the municipality is not very productive. The mining of the gravel deposits has therefore developed into an important branch of the economy.
Nützen has an AKN stop on the Hamburg-Altona-Neumünster railway line . The next junction for the A 7 motorway connection is only a few minutes away.
In the summer of 2020, a distribution center for the Amazon mail order company will open in Nützen.
Attractions
The list of cultural monuments in Nützen includes the cultural monuments entered in the list of monuments of Schleswig-Holstein.
