Hartenholm is a municipality in the Segeberg district in Schleswig-Holstein . Vosshöhlen, Schwarzeneck, Hahneneck and Bullenkloster are in the municipality.
Geography and traffic
The place is connected to the north and south by the federal motorway 7 , which can be reached within a few minutes by car via an east-west federal road.
The airfield Hartenholm is located in the neighboring municipality Hasenmoor .
history
Hartenholm was first mentioned in a document in 1343. The name is probably composed of the Low German meanings Har for "male stag" and Holm for "solid island" (in an otherwise inaccessible area). These terms, in turn, are derived from Old Norse or Old Saxon .
In 1963, 1966 and 1969 Hartenholm won the competition Our village should be more beautiful . In 1971 Hartenholm was the state winner and second national winner in the village competition.

Community representation
Of the 13 seats in the municipal council, the CDU achieved five seats in the 2013 local elections, while the SPD and the FWH electoral community each have four seats. In the 2018 local elections, the electoral community achieved five seats and the CDU and SPD four seats each.
