Geography and traffic

Groß Kummerfeld is located east of Neumünster between the federal highway 430 to Plön and the federal highway 205 to Bad Segeberg . The Kleinkummerfeld station in the municipality on the Neumünster – Bad Oldesloe railway line has not been served since 1984; the trains of the line RB 82 pass the municipality without stopping.

The source of the Stör is in the district of Willingrade .

history

  • Groß Kummerfeld is first mentioned in a document in 1141. In the Kiel city books it is "Cumbervelde".
  • The district of Willingrade appears for the first time in 1238 in a document as "Willenrothe".
