Geography and traffic

Fuhlendorf is located about three kilometers north of Bad Bramstedt and 13 km south of Neumünster in a rural area. The federal motorway 7 runs to the east from Hamburg to Flensburg .

history

In 1189 a branch of the Cistercian monastery Reinbek was founded in Fuhlendorf .

From 1938 to 1959 the place was part of the municipality of Wiemersdorf.

The Fuhlendorf Fliegerstaffel , one of the five locations of the Federal Police Fliegerstaffel for police helicopters , has existed since 1963 . Federal police missions are started from here, including border security at sea, rail security, environmental protection and SAR operations .
