Schackendorf is a municipality in the Segeberg district in Schleswig-Holstein .
Geography and traffic
Schackendorf is located directly northwest of Bad Segeberg in a rural area on the Trave and the Limes Saxoniae , the Sachsenwall, which was built by the Saxons around the year 810 to protect against the Slavic Abodrites in eastern Schleswig-Holstein.
The federal highway 21 from Bad Segeberg to Bad Oldesloe crosses the municipality, to the south the federal highway 206 runs from Bad Segeberg to Lübeck.
history
Archaeological finds prove a Stone Age settlement in the municipality. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1216.
