Groß Rönnau is a municipality in the Segeberg district in Schleswig-Holstein . The community of Groß Rönnau has no other districts.
Geography and traffic
Groß Rönnau is located about four kilometers north of Bad Segeberg in a rural area on the Trave . The federal highway 404 / federal highway 21 runs to the west from Bad Segeberg to Bad Oldesloe , to the south the federal highway 206 runs from Bad Segeberg to Lübeck.
history
A barrow in the municipality indicates a prehistoric settlement and was bought and taken into care by the Kiel “Society for the Collection and Preservation of Antiquities” as early as 1840. Groß Rönnau was first mentioned in 1238 as the property of the noble family "Rennowe".
From 1911 to 1961, Groß Rönnau was the station of the Kleinbahn Kiel – Segeberg , whose tracks were removed in 1962.
